The reveal clues are (blatantly) pointing to Clooney being 'Chocolate'.
BLIND ITEM: CUBA & CHOCOLATE (From Lainey Dec 08)
Chocolate: The other is much less attached, but just as heterosexually pressured, perhaps even more so. While he’s best known for his female pursuits, and so many females need to believe it that way, it would seem that women are not his only pleasures. When he decides he has a yearning for the other sex however, his flavour is decidedly darker. Sweet chocolate is what they call it? Yes. Black men are his weakness. On occasion, his hankering for it can get him into trouble. He was recently captivated by a fine black man working security at an event who was, unfortunately, not a homosexual. Apparently our star doesn’t have a very sophisticated gaydar because he hit up the wrong dude who did not appreciate the attention, even coming from such a powerful and coveted celebrity. He almost had his ass kicked. His people had to intervene, placate the man, pay off the man… although if he did end up getting the beat-down, he probably would have liked it. Because word is, as time goes on, he’s leaning towards picking a side. Like playing exclusively for the boys team.
Ok, Crumbs, can anyone come up with someone else who fits the 'Chocolate' profile?

Unsohpisticated gaydar - tick. (His 'nice women' dar is pretty fucked so doubt if his gaydar is any better.)

Any other contenders for the 'Chocolate' title come to mind because I really can't think of anyone else. This fits like a bespoke tailored glove.

I don't really get this blog, it seems a little chaotic. From what I can figure out, this is someone guessing what Lainey's blind items are by following up on supposed clues in Lainey's other posts. Is that right? I'm so easily confused.
Meh, Lainey's consistently stated she thinks George is straight and she's the one who broke the Sarah Larson was / wanted to be pregnant story, which came just a few weeks before this one.
Also, gaydar does not mean what you seem to think it means - he knows plenty of nice women (Bonnie Hunt is one of his oldest friends for crying out loud) so he can clearly recognize one when he meets one, he just prefers to date the hos. Besides, a man does not live in Hollywood over 25 years and still come up clueless on the gay front. Unless he's a moron. Which GC ain't.

Lainey has just posted "Coffee likes chocolate" on her twitter. This blog owner puts together the fact that George was just filming a nespresso commercial last week to guess that he must be coffee. And 'coffee likes chocolate'

Des - no worries! :) I often wonder with a lot of the BIs, how many of them actually have no basis in fact whatsoever, particularly those that come from sites where there's no conclusive 'reveal'? George, being hot, single, very wealthy etc etc, is prime pickings for blind item speculation, yet the only ones that ever turn out to be actually about him are the really obvious ones that involve some woman or another and, for most people, were never really BIs in the first place!
Yeah Clooney may be gay or bi but he aint Chocolate Lainey doesnt always hit a homerun with her blinditems unlike Ted C... If this came from Ted C I might be more inclined to believe it And knowing how savvy GC when it comes to people I think that his gaydar is probably well-tuned and if he did hit on a guy he would know when to back off before he got his ass kicked

Katiedot - above the article headline it shows the date of the post that revealed the answer - 6/25/09, same date as this item above.
No doubt that Lainey doesn't always has her facts straight, but to reveal her blind items, which she does once a year at her soiree, I would think she would have to have her facts straight or she'd get sued. And I seem to recall that George was at some event just prior to her posting the original blind item, so there was a good chance of it being about him.

I think the it was the Children Mending Hearts event in Germany that Lainey was referring too, the blind appeared about the same time.
I can believe a lot about George but somehow this one doesn't ring true, maybe she is making more out of it than actually too place. George must have really been drunk if she has her 'facts' straight. A security guy at a VIP event would not make a scene and demand to be paid off if he ever wanted to work on VIP events again, he would have just said 'sorry not gay' and left it at that.
What surprised me most is that considering Lainey's blinds have been going for almost 5years there are actually very few that relate to George.
The reveal that really got my attention though was the 'Madonna and Guy - Strong and Not' blind.
So, Damon is gay too, and Diane Lane likes women? LOL
Lainey must be out of her mind. I know that she was very, very careless when she posted that blind item about Larson calling the Clooney's and telling them she's pregnant or about to be pregnant, or whatever it was.
She gets carried away with herself and she can sometimes just be downright wrong, which IMO, she is here.
Her 'sources' on Clooney aren't very good, I think. I think she's listening to the wrong people or people who have some sort of agenda.

True or False, Stan's vacation is over. It's time to earn his xmas bonus. Lots of people follow Lainey's rumors, so it will be interesting to see if Stan has any response.
In the past, I wouldn't have believed this. Now, I'm not so sure. Gay or not, I would like to think George is smarter than to approach a guy directly at a public event.

What I meant here is I don't think we should take Fluffy/Cornish's word on anything, so perhaps she is posting something that Lainey didn't actually say. It's posted what Fluffy said about another person that heard it from Lainey. That's 3 repeats on a rumor. Who wants to write Lainey and see if she actually said it?
I'm confused but don't try to clear it up - I think it will only make it worse. But Cornish Game Hen you say?

What snippets I have seen of 'Madge' & Guy interacting, he always seems to come off a bit nasty, in a teasing way, towards her.
That Madge & Guy one is even more unlikely than the Clooney one imo. 2+2 = hysterical. There isn't one single piece of 'evidence' to back up the 'he roughs her up' claims, despite Lainey's trying to link Madge falling off her horse and a surgery-related bruised eye to Guy. Rubbish. Between that and Matt Damon, Lainey's credibility is rapidly disappearing.

Marina, I don’t know what lengths the anti Nestle lobby might go to in Brazil to get there case across but I’m sure this blind has nothing to do with them. It has been around since last December , this is all Lainey’s doing, if the Nestle lobby and Lainey were in cahoots she would be chastising George for his links with them in her column, she has never once mentioned the 3rd world baby formulae scandal.

Hotpinksky, I think Jane meant that the aspiring actor was spooked because he had been warned or simply realized that his chosen career would be finished if he kept talking. He was not spooked because a gay guy approached him.
Also, I think George has made it clear that when it comes to his love life "stooping" is what he does best, particularly when he drinks. Reaching up or across is what he has trouble doing.

All I will say is that there is a reason the word "like" is in quotation marks. And to me the behavior does not come as a suprise, especially for someone who drinks as heavily as he does.

These gay rumours come around time and time again. Always with no proof. For a guy who supposedly likes his "chocolate" I am surprised we never see him with anyone! It always seems to be girls! Funny that! There are only a couple of gossip sites and "fans" who keep insisting on this. Ted C has stated many times how he wishes George was gay. Now if these rumours are so well known in Hollywood Ted would be dropping hints left right and centre! There are plenty of people who want to pop the Clooney bubble and so far this is the best they can do? Where are the stories from the guys? Even Tom Cruise has had stories from "friends", George only seems to get it from females. I have heard he can be kinky and I do think in his younger days he may off experimented. But it isn't something someone so drunk can get away with for an extended period of time. George himself has admitted that since his neck operation he hasn't been able to drink as much!
If I was Krista or Sarah or Lisa I would be pretty upset and I am sure one of them would find a way to leak something like this about George! Krista leaked pictures of them together and the pregnancy rumour so it wouldn't be hard for her to feed this sort of rumour. She was so hurt she made up that shirt!

OK! george means the kind of guy that can't stop to drink when he starts, but...He works! Why is it that we just HAVE to put labels on people? Do you know the sexual orientation of your dry cleaner, no/yes, you don't care, just as long as he gets the job done! George is doing his job, as a fine actor and humanitarian. As far as the public is concerned he doesn't always make the right choices (I agree on that), but why so much time and energy is devoted to such close scrutiny of his sex life is beyond comprehension. You say that the public has a right to know. I don't agree. The press hounded Princess Diana to death, and growing up in the GLARING spotlight lead to Michael Jackson's untimely death. Let George do his job, and do what he likes in his private life. The comments posted makes you all look like 'peeping toms.' Perhaps if the spotlight was turned on YOU, you'd have a thing or two to hide!!

I'm still very doubtful about this particular BI, although on the fence re him being bi....mainly because of the length of time he's been in the public eye and the lack of not just concrete evidence but ANY evidence at all to point in that direction! I don't care one way or the other but that's what intrigues me.

Lainey is just plain ole wrong sometimes and responds poorly to it by being subsequently petty and vindictive.
Although she can be spot on in her assessment of Clooney, she's never given the impression to me of someone who really has any insider info on him at all. What she does have is a clever writing style which very successfully implies way more that she can actually deliver.

(1) No one is putting labels on him. It's just a conversation inspired by a BI. I doubt if anyone cares either way, it's just interested speculation. We discuss every other aspect of him (and other people) why not this? It's all part of the man.
(2) Unless I'm missing something, not one single person here has said anything about the public having a right to know about the man's sexuality!! No idea where that's coming from. No one, us included, has any RIGHT to know anything about him, least of all who he has sex with. It ain't going to stop us being interested!
(3) No one's stopping him from doing what he likes in his private life.

Marina, I did not mean to imply Brazil had anything to do with Nestles and its baby milk scandal and I’m sorry if you thought I inferred that Brazil was a third world country, perhaps my post could have been worded better. Quite right I will refer to these nations as undeveloped countries in future, so as not to cause any offence, but it’s not just Africa they are targeting recently representatives of the company have been seen in Haiti and Cuba.
I simply meant I have no idea of BMA activities in Brazil, the same as I have no idea about their activities in Poland or Finland, but it does sounds like a conspiracy theory gone wild to imply they create gossip to target individuals. Everything I know about them tells me they are very direct in confronting their targets head on, as for them having lots of money to fight their campaign with, I think they are like an ant to a mammoth in that department compared to Nestle and it’s potential to influence or even bribe officials in impoverished nations.
George has been called to account on his association with Nespresso ever since he first signed the contract in September/October 2006 and he has been hit with the gay rumours a lot longer than that. The only reason to do these commercials and take the brunt of the controversy is that they pay him a huge amount of money, you do remember the questions in Venice in August 2007, when he squirmed in his seat and couldn’t look the journalist in the eye or give a straight answer about his association with them. He knows about their reprehensible practices in undeveloped countries but just doesn’t REALLY care about it, in his mind Nespresso and Nestle are two different things.
As for George and his ‘gayness’ who knows, only those who share his bed would know for sure, I have never believed that, but do suspect he is bi-sexual and don’t really care , as long as he keeps them ‘personal’, I agree about the vasectomy, I’d put money one it and I’m not a betting person.

Well I'm going to point out one very glaring problem with this little "chocoholic" rumor...why has there never been even ONE African American pal as in "one of the boys" if Georgie is sooooo into black booty? That would be so very easy to cover up and continue right under the public's noses if he had a mind to do that.
He's had one relationship with an African American woman, Kimberly Russell who has been discussed here already but never a black man on the scene with George anywhere...not once, in any picture that I've seen anyway.
If he had proclivities toward black men, don't you think there would have been at least one hanging around him, at some time or other either here in the US or at the very least, in Italy on his vacations?

Some of us (I know, I know I'm beating a dead horse...) NK Caged stop making those whinnying sounds...
As I was saying, some of us could care less what George does in his private life - if George were a "private" citizen. But George is a UN Ambassador of Peace, George has also taken it upon himself to advocate for the people of Darfur. And with those roles come an expectation that what he does in his private life would not taint what he is trying to do humanitarily.
Unfortunately for George, there are still a lot of people who do judge him based his private life. And I am one of them. Because it is a matter of credibility. With it, he could do so much. Without it, he lends himself to ridicule and dismissal of his attempts to help.
People want to support the efforts of someone who is ethical and honest. George's actions in his private life too often lead me to question whether he is an ethical and honest person and too often, he has come up lacking.
For instance, he has ridiculed and judged those in political office who have been shown to be unethical. Spitzer is the first to come to mind. And he has done this by commenting to the media about it. And since his comments are often spread world-wide, it would make one think he would be careful not to criticize others if he himself was not being honest and ethical.
His association with Sarah has been debated on here and on other blogs and websites and the biggest issue most seem to have had with it is that her background was being whitewashed despite blantantly available pictures of her privates on the internet. Not that which was leaked by a boyfriend for instance, but pictures that she was obviously paid for.
The attempt at changing history with her background may have been Hollywood as usual, but coupled with George's almost snobbish remarks regarding others in the media who have tried to cover up issues that would have a negative impact on their careers, left me and some others no choice but to loudly condemn George for his hypocrisy.
As to whether he is gay and whether that alleged gayness leans toward a preference for black men, isn't the issue for me.
The issue is - if this is his choice and if Sarah was his choice then being honest about it would have gone a lot further in making him at least more credible.
But date a skank whose crotch is out there for all to see while trying to pass her off as just a gal he met in a bar and then try to shove her "new" persona of "model" on the media and his fans was infuriating because it was so dishonest. Couple that with his snipping at others who have not been honest with the public and I for one, could only ridicule him and rant about him.
Others also question his credibility and ethics because of his association with Nepresso - a subsidiary of Nestles that his getting a lot of heat for it's practices in Africa with baby formula and also India because of their buying up significant amounts of natural resource - namely water - that is needed by the farmers of the regions from which they take the water.
George representing Nepresso and Nestles also opens him up to questions about his credibility and honesty. Is he just a guy trying to make a living? Or is he a hypocrite only interested in making as much money as possible and it doesn't matter who he gets into bed with (literally and figuratively) to do it.
So upintheair - there are more layers here and this latest potential revelation is just fodder to question who he really is and what does he truly represent?

Frankly I wouldn't care if he had sex with a raccoon if that's what floats his boat. The old he's got "the gay" like it's some kind of disease really irks me, there would be nothing wrong with his being gay if those are the facts; not to mention that whomever is behind this trying to push this as fact (besides Lainey), is trying to be even more salatious since the gay rumors are so "been there and done that" and don't seem to have legs anymore, now they've added a new twist to try and drum up new interest.

Jane, thanks for your posts and info. I have to say though that Lainey's info has always sounded silly at best, and terribly nasty at worst, and not just about George, but also about other celebrities as well. But I now that I see your post, it's a kind of confirmation to me that her sources aren't really people in the know, they're just people who hear gossip or hear someone else relaying that gossip, etc. I mean no disrespect to you, but you said that you gave info on other celebs as well as the stuff on Larson. It sounds like you were one of her sources, in one way or another. I'm not at all criticizing that, but it confirms for me that her sources aren't exactly very insider. It's just random gossip that's given to her, and she can be careless in choosing to post it. There might be a gay man who claims that George hit on him and then got spooked into silence, but it doesn't follow that he was telling the truth. Maybe he's a fantasist. Maybe he was spooked into silence because he realized he could get into trouble for mouthing off the way he did. Maybe he was joking. I don't know, doesn't matter. I bet there's a lot of people, both in LA, NY, London, etc who can tell a good tale about a celebrity if they were given the chance.

No matter if we think George has a right to his own sexual preference, there are many people who would turn away from his work, both in film and politics, if they thought these rumors were true. Not only are these rumors about his lover being male, but also black. Hollywood and a lot of this country is still in the dark with sexuality, and racism still runs rampant. Many times the prejudice for both issues exist in the same people. Sad, but true. You only need to look at the banning of gay marriages in California to know that Hollywood is not as open minded and supportive as you would think. Although I love the "so what" attitude that Adam Lambert has about being openly gay, with some celebs it can hurt there careers overnight. There are many who would not want to openly test that theory even though people might suspect them. There is also a lot of "bi" statements that makes celebs less openly gay, even though they probably aren't really bi.
Sadly also is the fact anyone can start a rumor on the internet. Vindictive Ex-girlfriends or staff may have signed a confidentially agreement, but no one knows who they really are on the internet. Rumors are easy to start and hard to dispel, once they have spread. And as we know, there are many who claim to know inside knowledge, that truly don't.
This blog below from "eonline" explains that Lainey doesn't actually "name" the person in the blind vice, so people posting the answers are just guessing. And Lainey avoids being sued. As another blogger in the same website wrote, the Matt Damon reveal is probably incorrect. It's anyone's guess about George. I think it's human nature to try to find the tarnish in Celebrity lives, since they live the life most people can only dream about. It's what makes the gossip magazines so successful. People also like riddles. It gets to a point where the actual answer is less important than finding it is. Between Lainey and Ted C., it makes it sound like everyone in Hollywood is gay, drugged out or leading a double life. Just when you think it's all crap, you read about someone like Morgan Freeman or Michael Jackson and wish it were.

I just want to summarize a few of my thoughts:
Larson is irrelevant now. Let's forget her. Most of us know what George's time with her said about him as a man. Nothing more to say.
Lainey doesn't have any credibility. That said, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
There are a lot of people who would have a reason to try to say untrue or true things about George that might damage his career by putting out stories that appeal to the racism and anti-homosexual prejudices among us (Lesis more said this much better above). Not just bitter ex-girlfriends, but also political enemies here and abroad.
George has put himself in embarrassing positions publicly enough times that he has damaged his own credibility when stories like this pop up. It is pointless to blame everybody else for that and not blame George himself (see Lorna's post above).

Actually, Ted has all but outed George many times. When Renee Z. was linked again to George briefly around 2006-2007, he acknowledged her as the Penelope Cruz of our time (i.e., a well-known beard) and George is supposedly "Slick Brick," who dated Teri Hatcher (Vamparella Vein-pop or something like that) and who "prefers boys, in the end" (his crass humor, not mine). Nevertheless, in my opinion, Ted doesn't know for sure, either.

Actually, George has spent lots of time alone at Como with male friends of his who are black, including Quincy Jones (often married and divorced and father of many children) who talked about what a good cook George is. Doesn't answer the question one way or the other.
My personal take on this is as follows, with as little direct information as anyone else:
(1) I always though George had some rather consistent preferences in people he was attracted to: white skin, pointy noses, long, mostly straight, dark hair. Generally, black men and women don't fit the bill. Not a racial thing, in my opinion, just a preference, likely influenced by growing up among white people in Kentucky. Of course, people do change and grow, or even just get bored. But this is George Clooney! What are the odds of George changing, growing, or getting bored (see every post on the blog)?!
(2) It happens that my information that George is bisexual came from someone who is black (her ex-boyfriend (race unknown) stayed at Como with George). Again, it doesn't mean anything one way or the other. But I did have one of those "hhmmm" moments when I read this post.
(3) I would still do him, with proper medical precautions, of course. Because I believed he had certain color prejudices, with this post, his stock went up!
(4) So, Jane, Upintheair, and all the newbies, please stick around. It may often be a bumpy ride, but the trip is worth taking.

@ WIA...well alrighty then, I stand corrected but I do want to say that I don't think that tidbit of information is commonly known; at least not among the forum/blogs that I've traveled anyway in all of the years that I've been following his career.
And like amaretti said, that just adds to his stock but I never thought of him as racist. Quite to the contrary, in fact. I've always believed him to be very broad minded (ok in this case, not the feminine kind) and I, like you, also thought that he could quite easily be bi-sexual and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that either.
Part of what I objected/reacted to was the racist tone of the BI, as did some of the other crumbs.
You'd think with an AA President here in the US, finally, we would be making some headway on that front. But unfortunately, this past week we were reminded without remorse, that racism is very much alive and is very capable at a moments notice to rear it's ugly head, as was exemplified in the petty actions against innocent children wanting only to cool themselves on a hot summer day, only to be turned away from a pool where they were contractually entitled to swim. But that's another topic entirely and for another thread.

George must be a good cook, I seem to be hearing about his skills in the kitchen alot lately!
As for his type, he certainly seems to have one. But Celine was a blonde and there have been a couple of other blondes. So he can go off type! I think Ted C changes his mind when he feels like it. Because he has also at times said he wishes George was gay! Ted has made it pretty clear he has the hots for George. I have always thought George being bi was possible he seems to like trying new things etc. I have heard rumours about him and Waldo and even Ben but never before has anyone said he prefers AA. The fact is George gets pictured alot and if he gets so drunk he gets careless he would have been caught out by now. As someone stated George has many enemies not just ex girlfriends but people with power they would love this sort of thing! Like it or not a gay George Clooney wouldn't last long in Hollywood. Rupert Everett had a great career and then he came out! It isn't right but that's the way it is.
Renee can't be a very good beard because she doesn't seem to last very long. The way she gushed about George almost sent me diabetic! Maybe George will surprise us with his next "girl" hopefully he can't get much skankier then Krista or Sarah!
As for Sarah I think unless she hooks up with someone famous again we hopefully won't be hearing from her. Unless she tries to write some sort of tell all book! I know she has probably signed some sort of agreement but I don't see her going back to waittressing! I think George only knows how to cook certain items well, like eggs and pasta sauces. He is not a gourmet chef or anything like that. Not in the kitchen, anyway.
He made 'breakfast eggs' (an omelette I think) for Celine and Sarah T, they both commented on it and Selma Hyack mentioned that he made great enchiladas, he also has his regular home made pizza night at Lake Como. WIA is correct though, George himself says he just has a few kitchen specialties.

As you quite rightly say earlier, his g/f choice is nothing other a natural gravitiating towards a type - just personal preference - and coouldn't possibly be used to come to a conclusion about where he stands on race.
I'm genuinely interested as to what it was that might have made you think he was? George has always comes across to me as all-embracing (a bit too all-embracing at times, granted) and has never once given the impression of being anything less than an equal opps type of guy, all welcome to apply!
Granted, I've only really been paying attention to G since O Brother and not really that carefully apart from films and Darfur until a few years back, (and also don't live in US) so perhaps I've missed out on earlier events/occurences that might have given that impression.

I used the phrase "color prejudice" in an effort to distinguish that from "racial prejudice." The point I was trying to make was exactly what you wrote - that George prefers a certain type. It happens that his type would be found almost exclusively among white women of European descent or, in certain cases, women of so-called "mixed" race. I forgot that "color" is a term often used in the English-speaking world outside the US when discussing racial matters, so it really wasn't a very effective use of terminology on an international blog! In the US, we tend to talk about "race" almost exclusively, when discussing issues of prejudice based on skin color, not "color." Confusing, isn't it? It is always hard to characterize these things, anyway. What is race? What is color?
Sorry for the confusion. I don't think George is racist or I wouldn't be here!

I’m just going to go on ahead and tell myself that the “body waste” they’re referring to is sweat….
I don't see it as being George but then I don't believe George is gay. There are no clues to who it could be and is so general in its statement could be anyone! If George was gay I think he would be married and have a beard not skanking around causing the limelight to be focused on his sex life.
It's so general that I don't believe that it is a real blind item. I think these people make stuff up just to get readers and hits on their web pages all the time.
It also follows that if they don't get more and more salacious and outrageous, who is going to bother to read their sites anymore?
