Clooney yachting with Bill Murray

celeb-gossip.net

They’ve always enjoyed the finer things in life, and earlier today (July 7) George Clooney and Bill Murray were spotted yachting in Italy.

Joined by Karen Duffy and a few other friends (including Clooney’s parents), the “Ocean’s Eleven” stud and his “Groundhog Day” pal looked relaxed as they floated on a lake in the sunshine.

And at one point, Mr. Murray hopped overboard onto a large floating surfboard-looking device on which he paddled around the yacht.

All in all, everyone looked to be having a smashing good time while chilling out and chatting the day away.

Are you guys sure the woman in the green bikini isn't Weiss' girlfriend Melania (I know I spelt that incorrectly)?

That Clooney entertains Bill Murray ups him immeasureably in my opinion. I think Bill Murray is a huge talent and not so popular in Hollywood. Doesnt even have an agent. Huge Clooney boost here in caliiville.
    just huge

I'm pretty sure the girl isn't Meilani just look at her facebook picture. This girl is way too young and flatchested to be her, not too mention short. This does look like the girl at the sushi place maybe she is a new assistant? Meilani is the women who was married to Adrian Paul and is Miguels ex sister in law.
I am a fan of Bill's but he does have a very bad reputation in Hollywood as being difficult to work with. George might be planning on working with him at some stage.

Bill worked with George on The Fantastic Mr Fox and he has stayed at the Villa previously. He was even captured by the pap's playing basketball (or trying to) in August 2007, the same time that Sarah was there.

I’m not sure about George going up in my estimation through an association with Bill, he is a funny man but sometimes it’s the funny ones who are not so nice at home.

    The Divorce

The drug rumours have been around for many years.

Oops, blogger playing tricks on me stopped my post mid stride and then got the hiccups.

Bill's wife filed for divorce in May 2008. So I guess one of these, trips she was complaining about may have included the holiday in lake Como without her.

Bill did not deny the alligations and the statement from the actor's lawyer, John McDougall, said only: "I can say that Bill Murray is deeply saddened by the break-up of his marriage to Jennifer. They remain loving parents, committed to the best interest of their children."

Alcohol, marijuana and sex addictions...I wonder what George sees in him.

So Bill ain't perfect. Go behind the scenes of 90% of the population (not just celebs) and I'm sure they (and we) would all have things that they/we are not too proud of. I don't know the ins and outs of Murray's marriage and I never will. He may have been a lousy husband but it doesn't stop him from also being a very funny, talented guy.

I don't see why Clooney enjoying Murray's company has to mean anything other than Clooney liking the guy and getting on well with him? Should he be judging him for things that are absolutely none of his business? I don't think so.

Just making an observation regarding Calii up thread and Lorna’s earlier post on
‘celebrities thinking the laws of morality don’t apply to them like everyone else’.

I agree, no one is perfect, drink and drugs seem to be just another day at the office in Hollywood but the abandonment, screwing around and domestic violence are a whole different ball game. It’s back to the old story of knowing too much about the stars these days. If the wife hadn’t spilled the beans then I’d still be thinking what a great fun guy he is.

Once more I find myself asking ‘will I spend my box office or DVD dollars on someone who has lost my respect’, no amount of talent excuses a mean drunk/pot head who habitually cheats on his wife , resorts to violence and frightens his kids.

I have to disagree about us not knowing what happened in Bills marriage, his wife told everyone what it was like in the divorce papers and he never once denied the claims, just saying he was ‘devastated’ by the divorce when asked about it in a later interview and ‘he trusted her and felt betrayed’. Betrayed by the fact that his wife actually made public what was going on in their marriage ? He was the one screwing around but he ‘felt betrayed’......

Now doubt Bill can be a fun guy but if anything Bill is more screwed up than George regarding life choices, he had a wife and 4 kids to think about but went AWOL and whoring around when ever he felt like it, and there is no excuse for physical violence in any marriage. Not one word from Bill refuting her alligations. He took a real beating on the blogs and the tabloids at the time, if there was no truth to the alligations his lawyers would have said so. The one thing I do respect Murray for is that at least he had the good grace not to try and white wash his shortcomings.

As for George and Bill.....I didn’t say anything about George judging Bill, that would be like the pot calling the kettle black. I should have added a LOL to the last sentence in my previous post.

I agree with you Emerald. George isn't responsible for anything that Bill did on his marriage, but the pictures suddenly look a bit more unpleasant to me now that we know that it's him. But I don't think that Bill is a close and personal friend, just a kind of industry friend, if that makes any sense.

Also, I read last night on Clooney Gazette that Bill was in town because he's with George to L'Aqila to help open that threater that was mentioned in one of the articles fro
the last couple of days, so in a way, he's there on business.

  9. New Kid Says:

Since they both worked on "Mr. Fox" it makes sense that since 20th is sponsoring the event, both would be there (the opening.)

Como seems to be Motel 6 for anyone who's in the area during Clooney's summer break. This man just can't seem to enjoy his own company and be alone for more than 1-day.

  10. Sabby Says:

Bill was also visiting George in Como last year - there were pictures of them (i think in people mag) playing basketball. Bill was also seen at the Venice film fest at the MC after party hanging out with George and SL. I think they were doing the voices for Mr. Fox at the time. So this is not a new friendship. I guess once you have been invited or have stayed at George's place in Como, the invitation is open for every summer?

  11. Sabby Says:

oops-- I meant Bill was seen playing b-ball with George in Como in 2007.

  12. ada100 Says:

green bikini girl seems to be just that - a girl. Seen in photo on another site, she gets on a board like the one Bill Murray stands on and paddles around. In that photo, she looks really young - like a young teen even. Wish I knew how to imbed links, but hopefully you will take my word for it. The green bikini girl is a girl, not a woman.

And no matter what I think about a combo such as George and 23-year Lucy or any other fame whore swinging wannabe...I do not believe that George "flings" with young girls. (Thank God for that!)
